Position Overview:
As a Truck Driver at Daniels Health Canada, a
subsidiary of Daniels Health, you will play a vital role in our mission to
provide efficient and safe management of infectious waste streams to healthcare
facilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, and medical centers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely
operate commercial trucks to transport infectious waste materials between
healthcare facilities and disposal sites.
• Adhere
to all relevant state, federal, and local regulations, as well as Daniels
Health safety standards and protocols.
• Perform
pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
• Efficiently
load and unload waste materials, ensuring proper handling and disposal
procedures are followed.
• Maintain
accurate records of transportation activities, including logs, mileage, and any
incidents.
• Collaborate
with facility staff for smooth waste disposal operations, fostering positive
customer relationships.
• Report
any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to the appropriate channels.
• Uphold
the company's commitment to safety, infection risk reduction, and environmental
compliance.
Qualifications:
• Air
Brakes Endorsement
Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer
trucks)
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
Certificate
• 1
year to 2 or more years of experience
• Proven
experience as a commercial truck driver, preferably in the healthcare waste
management sector.
• Knowledge
of and adherence to state, federal, and local regulations governing waste
transportation.
• Ability
to follow safety protocols and infection risk reduction measures.
• Strong
communication and interpersonal skills for positive interactions with facility
staff.
• Attention
to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
• No
specific level of education is required.
• Ability
to communicate in English.
