SUMMARY OF THIS POSITIONUnder the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform tasks related to the general maintenance of buildings and equipment. The incumbent will execute minor repair work, maintain equipment and installations, and perform preventive inspection of systems relating to building mechanics as well as machinery. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM (40 hours/week) OUTLINE OF DUTIES· Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.§ Contact tradespersons for major repairs.· Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as paint booth maintenance, bake booth maintenance, compressor repairs and maintenance, preventative maintenance of mills and lathes and minor power tool repair .· Respond to requests from supervisor for repairs.· Perform daily inspections on the building systems, jibs, hoists, forklifts, machining equipment and others that require daily inspections and maintenance.· Provide general assistance to skilled trade persons such as machinists, welders, painters and assemblers.· Ensure that safety measures are in place in the establishment .
